What is a vehicle wrap?

A: A vehicle wrap consists of a design, which is printed on special Vinyl wrap, then its laminated, and installed or “wrapped” on a vehicle. The wrap is applied directly to the vehicle. This turns the vehicle into a moving billboard. Like a custom paint job for your Vehicle.

What is involved on wrapping a Vehicle?

A: Wrapping any vehicle consists of 3 stages. The first is the conceptual, design and layout stage. The second is the production stage and the third stage is installation. There may even be a forth stage that involves removal of the graphics if required.

Explain the Design Stage?

A: Design and concept is the most critical part of the process, Our Wraps are designed thinking three-dimensional, Taking into account the shape of the body of the vehicle, to get the best amount of exposure. We work with the client throughout the process to ensure that the message conveyed in the design accurately and appropriately reflects that of the company. We provide proofs-mockups that represent the look of the final product. And we match the wrap as close as possible to these mockups.

What kind of file would be best to send for the best results?

A: Tiff and Illustrator EPS files are best for printing and Illustrator AI files are best for computerized vinyl cutting. 720 Resolution or higher at a 1/10th scale

Do I need to provide my own design or can you do that for me?

Either option is available. We can provide design services for you with client supplied elements (logos/text/photos/etc.). In this case, you provide us the elements needed and work directly with our designers to create the desired layout. If you have your own design capabilities we can provide you with vehicle templates and specifications for the artwork, free of charge, so that you can provide us with your completed design ready to print. It is important to remember the purpose of a vehicle wrap is advertising. Your vehicle becomes a moving billboard in which your audience has approx. 3 seconds to receive your message. Dynamic graphics with minimal text is ideal.

Explain the Production Stage?

A: The production stage consists on the conversion of the scaled much up to a vibrant, high resolution, live size print out that will later be used to wrap the vehicle. These are printed by accurately transferring the images through our advanced art print server. To our state of the art large format printers, using state of the art inks that produce the best color schemes and resolution possible. Next these prints are laminated to add extra Ultraviolet protection and durability.

How long does it take to wrap a vehicle?

A: That depends on how long stage one takes. We've created a completely new design in one day, got approvals the following day and had the graphics installed 3 days later. However, this is not usually the case. The design stage typically takes the longest. The production stage takes about 3 days and the installation can take as long as 2 days or as little as a few hours. it all depends on the size of the vehicle and intricacy of the wrap. Time estimates are given to our customers prior to beginning the installation process.

Are wraps applied to windows?

A: Yes, but only rear side and rear windows. Window wraps are printed on a special perforated vinyl that allows the driver to see through the rear and side rear windows.

Can a wrap be removed?

A: Yes. The wrap can be removed. However, attempting to remove it yourself may cause damage to your paint. We suggest having L.A. Car Wrap de-install your vehicle wrap. as our installation experts are best equipped this task.

Will the wrap damage my paint?

A: No. A car wrap, when applied and removed correctly, does not damage your car's OEM paint. In fact, it protects it. 
 
In all of our experiences, the only time a vehicles paint may be affected is in case of a poor repaint job, old or cracked paint. Factory paint in 99% of instances is not affected by our wraps.

Is there a guarantee on the wrap?

A: A L.A. Car Wrap has a full warranty of 5 years against, Non-Intentional Peeling, Fading or changing of color.

Will you pay me to drive my car with someone else’s advertising?

A: No. Our company designs, prints and wraps vehicles for businesses looking to advertise on their vehicles.

Will you wrap a leased vehicle?

A: Yes. Since a wrap can be removed without damaging a vehicle, there are no restrictions against wrapping a leased vehicle.

How long will a wrap last on my vehicle?

A: Our wraps will normally outlast the vehicle. You can expect your wrap to last 5 years or longer, as long as you’re careful about high-pressure washing.

How do I care for my wrap?

A: It is best to hand wash your wrapped vehicle. In general, avoid power and pressure washing and do not use an ice-scraper. Brushing windows and the use of a rear defroster will cause no damage to your window wrap.

What’s the difference between a partial wrap and a Full wrap?

A: A partial wrap covers up to 60% of the vehicle, depending on your budget we do Full, ½ or ¼, these refers to the percentage of the car that is covered by the wrap.

Do you wrap anything other than vehicles?

A: Absolutely! Besides vehicle wraps we also wrap buildings, windows, storefronts, Walls and machinery, providing that the surface that the enough adhesion for the vinyl. We also provide a full range of high-resolution digital graphics to produce large banners, billboards, and posters.
